Not just a Blogger...

Just thought I'd show everyone some of the recent original artwork i've been doing lately. If I'm not writing or blogging, I can be seen hunched over a canvas or (in this case) over a computer with a painting program.

Oh wow - that's very impressive! Lovely! Well, the second one isn't lovely, but I'm assuming it wasn't supposed to be... you know what I mean...

Awesome.

Are these elements taken from your novel, or just independent designs?

They're very beautiful, especially the first one. The yak shaman one's awesome. Is there like a story to go along with it?

I'm a bit nervous about the Necro-ovinomancer, but that's because I'm'a scared of skulls.
Is it all digital?
You, my dear, are talented.

Yes, both were done on my computer using the program Painter and a Wacom tablet. It's a great program for painters...and less messy than the real thing.

Yes, I'm also writing a novel (actually a series of novels) Called the Twilight of Magic. High fantasy stuff.
Still editing the first book: The Herald of Shadows. At about 800 pages, it’s a little too long for a first time writer to get published. Currently also working of book 2: The Returning Storm.

Unfortunately these pieces are currently being packaged to send out to perspective buyers. If sold, the rights to them are transferred over. Probably best to avoid reproduction of these pictures. Sorry. Thanks for the interest, tho.

Hoooly... We've got a superstar in our midst!

Who on Earth d'you think you are?
A superstar?
Well, right you are!

And we all shine on,
Like the moon and the stars and the sun.
Well, we all shine on.
Everyone, c'mon...

(That's going to be stuck in my head all day)
You can't see it, but I'm bowing to your greatness. Which Wacom tablet do you have? I almost got one the other day. Actually, every time I go to the electronics store, I manage to walk by that isle and hear them crying out for me to take one home. The conversation always goes like this:

Phoenix's Heart: Hmm, a drawing tablet. Maybe I should...
Phoenix's Hands: Um, no.
Phoenix's Heart: What? Why not?
Phoenix's Hands: You haven't done any art in, like, ten years. And even then...it wasn't so good.
Phoenix's Heart: Ouch, I'm breaking.
Phoenix's Brain: Hmm, we do have a month long break at work where we will be sitting at our desk in front of our computer with nothing to do for eight hours a day.
Phoenix's Heart and Hands: And...?
Phoenix's Brain: Well, surely we could re-learn...
Phoenix's Hands: No! You drink SO MUCH COFFEE that we're shaking all the time! Even if we could draw before, there's no way now.
Phoenix's Brain: Are you saying that is my fault?
Phoenix's Hands: I'm not saying anything is your fault, I'm saying you can't draw. Our students ERASE better drawings than you can produce.
Phoenix's Eyes: Um, guys? Has anyone else noticed the price on these things?

*Sigh*

Han, I sense the conflict within you!

Let go your fear!

Let go your hate!

Let go your cash!

Then go draw something!
