How wude...

Jon here,

"Howya doin' boss?"
Does everybody like Jo Jo so far? I am trying to make him annoying and obnoxious, yet still make it kind of funny. I also now realize that it's been difficult creating another character and give him an entirely separate voice. I am concerned that it sounds like me when I write him, you know.

I've got some plans for this guy. I have a few ideas already and I'll probably come up with a couple more along the way. I will be ending this "story arc" eventually, but it won't end soon enough, ha ha. I am also not tying myself to it, when I want to write about something else like my trip to the Bears game, I will.

If anyone has suggestions on how to add to his obnoxoiosnessocity, I'll take them.

So far he's an OK character. You probably need to give him some more time to flesh out the story arc before you can judge.

The concept is good.

I would make him even stupider. Not only would that cause the contrast between him and your own voice to widen, it would be pretty funny.

Are you sure you want to play an obnoxious character? If you do it too well, people might start to wonder if you're really joking or not.

I think Jo Jo is obnoxious and stupid... Which is exactly what he should be. Very funny.
It's hard to satirize a cliché, so you might fall in a trap of redundancy, but if you use him sparingly, I think he’s fine.
Eh, I’m not sure…did that help?

He's ok with me... even though he's muscling in on my intentional misspelling of names to make 'em wacky...*grumblepout*

prolly fits him better anyway.

...and since your axing for our .02 - I do think you should always spell it "bwauwth". It'll add another dimension of annoyance coupled with an insider info-laden joke that you might be able to play off of someday.

...uh... check that - in attempt to make 'em wacky... sometimes they end up just plain dumb.

Palps -- Who'd've thought that I would have trouble doing obnoxious...

Yoda -- I want to make him stupidish, but then have him occasionally throw in something way out of character.

Typh -- That's the challenge of a good writer!

JJ -- I think that my plans will keep me from getting him redundant.

Solo -- Ooops, yeah. Guess I let the cat out of the proverbial bag, eh?

Fluke -- I'm going to move away from the intentionally misspelling of names because his humor should be that he's obnoxious without really knowing it, not intentionally insulting people. I couldn't resist calling you "Starchiebunker" though...

Hm...

are any of you insulted with FLuke's occasional or continual mispelling of your name?

I thought that it was an amusing running gag with Typho.

Fluke-
not at all. It's just a gag.
At least...I think so...

I just got a notion from Jon's comment-

"obnoxious without really knowing it, not intentionally insulting people."

No offense has been intended.

I like the banana obsession. Also, maybe JoJo can have some kinda responsibility, like flying the ship. Something Jon depends on, and is let down on.

Ditto what Phoenix said.
I thought he was just some annoying moron who'd made a blog so he could spam people - since Jo Jo's blog seems to have very little on it... just the same post four or five times, then something about daiquiris. Are you going to actually put anything there?

And ditto what Eric said to Drew. Actually, I like the way Fluke says Yarael *POOF*!

I don't think that I want Jo Jo flying the ship. That'd be suicide!

Yes, I did make the Jo Jo blog, I don't think that I am going to put much in it, though. I'd rather have people visit my blog

The recurring intro kind of happened by accident. I put the post in, got an error, then did it again. When I looked at the blog, it had two of the same post so I said what the hey and made it three. I was going to keep doing it, but there were other important posts to post about.

Er, I mean, Hoo hoo hoo ha ha ha!
